Naphtali J. Renshaw,
Executive Director of the BeLonging Space
Naphtali Renshaw (she/they) fell in love with the wild places of Oregon when she was a young child; and, though deeply appreciative for the learnings collected along many roads, is grateful to have once again followed her feet home. It is possible that a childhood of shallow roots and transitional belonging prepared her to do the work that they love most to do: identify and create spaces and opportunities for belonging where there are few. Naphtali is a public innovator and has participated in and helped to launch a number of initiatives related to societal healing and justice, community development, and church engagement. She sometimes writes and speaks about these things.
Naphtali has a collection of indoor and outdoor plants, and enjoys writing, reading, and hot beverages that inevitably grow cold before they finish them. She lives at home outside of Eugene with a dog, a cat, a giant barking floof, some chickens, and a couple of gardens– all conveniently located in the place where she also loves her amazing spouse and four children.
Her position is currently funded by the Crater Lake District Church Extension Society and is connected to the ministry of the United Methodist Church.
